Synopsis:

Jabra will be collaborating with Logitech and produce co-branded packages that will be sold in the North American market together. This move is expected to expand Jabra’s sales reach.

Started 2011 of July, Logitech had selected several Jabra UC headsets and sold them together with the company’s business customers and channel partners. The partnership distribution started in the North American market. Planning to strengthen the market together, Logitech and Jabra both plotted to distribute their co-branded headsets globally, automatically combining Logitech’s broad fame and channel reach and Jabra headsets’ high quality audio performance.

The first products resulted from the collaboration between these two companies became available July of the same year. And these products include:

  • Logitech BSP420 USB Speakerphone (Jabra SPEAK™ 410)
  • Logitech BH970 Wireless Bluetooth Headset (Jabra GO™ 6430)
  • Logitech BH870 Wireless DECT Headset (Jabra PRO™ 9450)

Considered as Jabra’s initial step towards the company’s expansion of its market presence in North America, the Jabra-Logitech collaboration is considered a milestone, especially since sales channels in that specific region do not exist. But alongside this, Jabra continued to sell its broad portfolio individually to its existing channel partners all over the world.

Jabra CEO Mogens Elsberg believes in the important of the collaboration between the two companies. He said, “Jabra’s intention is to be a leader in the UC space and the agreement with Logitech is an important step in achieving this. We are very pleased to announce the agreement with Logitech which we believe will lead to more people using Jabra headsets for their UC solutions.” In addition, he believed, “Adding voice to the UC experience is one of the most important factors for a successful deployment and adoption of the technology, we expect that the combination of Jabra’s quality headsets, the Logitech brand and channel reach will increase the awareness of UC headsets as a category to the benefit of both parties and the existing Jabra channel network.”

Logitech president and CEO Gerald P. Quindlen seconded Elsberg’s thoughts and said, “This collaboration with GN Netcom will enable Logitech to be a full solution provider for Unified Communications. Businesses will now have a single company for a full range of UC solutions – from the meeting room with LifeSize video conferencing end points and infrastructure products to PCs, Macs and tablets with webcams, headsets and speakerphones.”
