Sennheiser Backs Up William F1 Conference Centre with Sennheiser TeamConnect Conferencing System

William F1 Conference Centre now uses Sennheiser TeamConnect Conferencing System, offering more options and unique experiences to guests who take part in the events hosted in the site. This does not only improves the Centre’s services but also their offers and facilities. 

William F1 Conference Centre chose Sennheiser TeamConnect Conferencing System to back up their events and activities. In 2002 was converted to the base of the team for the Le Mans project, the William F1 Conference Centre is now being used in hosting conference and events, offering modern, creative and state-of-the-art facility located in Grove, Oxfordshire. One of the most famous events is the unique happening that occur every race day. In this event, all William’s senior team personnel and drivers will be called and gather in the Centre to conduct a talk to an audience composed of VIP listeners.

With the several events that transpire in the site, the Centre needs a specific technology to be able to connect the driver’s call seamlessly to the audience and presenters amidst the extremely pressured and highly-critical environment. This need was immediately catered to by Sennheiser Project Manager Phil Cummings and Sennheiser UK Market Development Manager and TeamConnect Ambassador Nick Pemberton. This technology is expected to bring the action close to the guests in the event with utmost reliability, efficiency and speed.

Market Development Manager and TeamConnect Ambassador Nick Pemberton admitted that finding the best solutions for the Williams F1 Conference Centre was a real challenge. Furthermore, he said, “Not only did we have to provide a teleconference system that allows drivers to call in during race days, but also integrate this into a large presentation space which already features a multiple Sennheiser G3 radio mic system. In addition, it had to work with a variety of other communication methods, including mobile phone and videoconferencing.”

Capable of catering and connecting to about 150 people, the Sennheiser solutions for Williams offers several features including echo cancellation included with high-quality processing, and the TeamConnect handling feedback. These features maximize and provide precise and clear speech intelligibility. But the best among all its features is its capability to allow audience members to speak to drivers and presenters directly, offering a unique experience for them.

Williams’ AV technician Jonathan Tirrill said, “The Sennheiser TeamConnect system installed in our auditorium at Williams integrates well with pre-installed kit and, with the ability to ‘drive’ the system via iPad, makes it simple to use. The iPad app allows me to dial in, receive calls and change presets quickly and effectively. The TeamConnect system connected simply to our IP network enabling an instant iPad control line. These were simple plug and play operations. Also, the TeamConnect system allows me to connect multiple sources into the system, such as my wireless lapel and handheld microphones, or even PC sound via the Team Centre Combox, the Combox allowing connection via USB, freeing up more mic inputs.” In addition, he said, “We use the system predominantly for our race day events, where guests come to experience Williams’ hospitality and enjoy the race. Part of the day includes a live telephone link up with one of our drivers before the race. It is vitally important that the clarity of the sound, for both driver and audience alike, is perfect, as the drivers’ time pre-race is extremely precious and the audience wants to hear every word. The TeamConnect system enables this to happen perfectly, every time.”
