Synopsis:
Plantronics and Microsoft go hand-in-hand to boost users’ productivity through smart wearable device. The different solutions are showcased at the LyncConf 2014 held at the Aria Casino and Hotel Convention Center.

Plantronics demonstrated the new applications they created, while teaming up Microsoft Lync and their very own sensor-enabled wearable devices, this February 19, 2014 at the LyncConf 2014 at Las Vegas. The applications they made will be able to help improve the productivity of the users, particularly when they are on the go.

Plantronics will show the seamless transfer of an active Lync call from different devices. From desktops to smartphones, a connected worker can function wherever he may be, whether he is away or on his desk. In addition, the Smart Presence in Microsoft Lync will also be featured and the advantage of using the application for more accurate presence will also be provided, whether using a desk or a mobile phone. It will be on display on February 19, 2014 at booth #522 in the LyncConf 2014 at Aria Casino and Hotel Convention Center. Other third party applications, which can improve the integration of Smart Presence to Lync in the call center environment, will also be on display.

Microsoft’s Lync Product Marketing General Manager, Giovanni Mezgec, is proud of this new product and application. He said, “We are excited that Plantronics is providing workers in multiple environments with a variety of devices that can transition communications more easily from Lync and Skype to a mobile device. This provides customers the flexibility to choose a solutions that meets their specialized communication and collaboration needs.”

The new Plantronics portfolio for wearable audio devices includes all-inclusive offerings, which will optimize Lync users. The renowned unified communications of Plantronics offers smarter, more collaborated, and outstanding audio experience in the form of wearable technology, which can connect different devices and work excellently even in a difficult environment.

Flexibility is one of the most important factors that Plantronics can offer Lync users. Plantronics’ Enterprise Solutions Vice President, Bill Loewenthal, said “Plantronics provides Lync customers with the flexibility to work anywhere by enabling them to move between devices and places throughout the day to maximize the benefits of the Microsoft Lync experience. The ability of our audio devices to easily transition communications in multiple environments and deliver information about user’s world makes communicating easier because it anticipates a user’s needs and provides more accurate information to those around them. Our capabilities improve the ease of audio connections between people and signal the promise of wearable technology.”

There are a lot of features that the device wows its users. Being smart, the device has the ability to figure out if it is being worn or not. This proximity intelligence is a big advantage for users, as well as its mobile call state awareness.

Another great feature that the device offers is its seamless transfer feature. A call that is Lync-based can be smoothly transferred from the desktop to mobile phones. This can be perfectly used through Plantronics’ Voyager Legend UC headset, which will be perfect for workers away from desk. The Voyager UC headset contains the proximity information, which will make it possible to seamlessly transfer the call from one device to another. And this feature will be made available in the Plantronics application, as well as the catalog of Microsoft Lync in the latter end of the year.

Plantronics Smart Presence embedded in Microsoft Lync 2013 will enhance the presence capabilities if it is partnered with Windows-supported Plantronics Spokes through the different audio devices of the company. These include:
