Sennheiser Receives Three iF Design Awards this 2015

Sennheiser was able to prove itself again when it received a total of three iF Design Awards of 2015.

iF Design Award is considered one of the most prestigious event in the field of global design competitions. This year, all of the international experts’ jury consisted of 53 members had to assess from 53 countries in five categories, which includes:

• Product
• Communication
• Packaging design
• Interior architecture
• Professional concepts

There are specific criteria which should be met and in the product design category, some of the criteria that the international experts’ jury should evaluate are the following:

• Design quality
• Finish
• Choice of materials
• Degree of innovation
• Environmental impact
• Functionality
• Ergonomics
• Visualization of intended use/intuitiveness
• Safety
• Brand value and branding
• Universal design

The awards given were:

• iF Label (Product Design Category): Sennheiser’s New Wireless Headphone Models
• iF Label (Product Design Category): Sennheiser’s Audio Specialist’s Ear-canal Headphones
• iF Gold Award: Sennheiser’s URBANITE range

iF Label: Product Design Category

The iF Label for outstanding design achievements is awarded every year by the iF International Forum Design GmbH. And in the design category, they awarded Sennheiser’s new wireless headphone models and the audio specialist’s ear-canal headphones.

Thoroughly impressed, the jury awarded the iF Label to the newly debuted wireless audio headphones which were just formally introduced at the 2015 CES in Las Vegas. Some of these headphones are:

• RS 175
• RS 185
• RS 195

These specific headphones are relatively famous for their clean and elegant-designed lines. They offer great comfort because of its around-ear design making them perfect for longtime use. Considered as great home audio video systems companion, these headphones, as well as its transmitters, were carefully crafted with the help of Kiel-based design studio, Brennwald Design. Adding to the aesthetic value of the product is its stylish black color and lines.

Sennheiser’s audio specialist’s ear-canal headphones were also awarded with the iF Label. These headphones include:

• CX 1.00
• CX 2.00
• CX 3.00
• CX 5.00

This series picked out of a lot of submission because of its portable and lightweight design, along with the excellent audio quality they provide as well as comfort and flexibility for the users when using the headphones. The headphones’ designs were crafted together with NextOfKin Creatives and has four options for the earsleeves sizes.

iF Gold Award: Sennheiser’s URBANITE range

The international jury presented the iF Gold Award to Sennheiser’s URBANITE range last February 27, 2015 at Munich’s BMW Welt and said, “A ‘feast for the ears’ that has all eyes upon it: the optimal technical performance of Sennheiser’s URBANITE headphones is rounded off with a minimalistic, accentuated design. The high quality materials including textile elements, the individual colour scheme and the robust urban style combined with perfect craftsmanship as well as technical innovation constitute the special charm of this product.“

In accordance to this, Oliver Berger, Sennheiser Global Design Manager said: “We are very proud to have received this accolade as the iF gold award is only presented to the very best submissions of the year. The expert jury’s recognition confirms our belief that our URBANITE is more than just a trend product.”
