Synopsis:

19 of Sennheiser’s wireless professionals earned their RF expert certificates after completing their three on-site trainings. Currently, they are working all over the world and making the most out of the knowledge they gained.

Nine months of hard work finally paved off for Sennheiser’s 19 wireless professionals, when they received the RF Expert certificate they’ve been slaving themselves for. After receiving their third and last on-site training session in Delhi, India, the new RF experts have been global, in order to deliver to Sennheiser partners and customers, the support they need for their projects.

Sennheiser Sound Academy Manager Kirsten Wessendorf said, “The system of extensive online training and close supervision by mentors combined with several weeks of on-site training has proven itself.”

While some are still busily working on their projects, there are also others who have successfully completed theirs. One of which is Sennheiser Middle East Ryan Burr.

Working on the plan for the entertainment and conference facilities for both Conference Center and Sheraton Hotel in Doha, Qatar, DoummarQ2 Advanced Technology is the client Burr supported. The tasks he had his hands on included:

  • carrying out a thorough analysis of the wireless conditions at the location
  • planning the conference/interpreting systems and the wireless microphone channels
  • coordinating all wireless frequencies
  • programming and testing the systems on site

Sennheiser Middle East Ryan Burr proudly admits that it was a gigantic project and said, “Five conference rooms are equipped with ADN-W wireless conference systems with a total of 380 delegate units, while a further six have SR 2020/HDE 2020 interpreting systems with a total of 4,000 receivers. 150 channels of wireless microphones, mostly 5000/3000 systems, are used in the event venues. One room alone has 72 channels! It’s the largest single project that Sennheiser Middle East has ever worked on, and my further training as an RF expert came just at the right time for me.”

Another RF expert who achieved the top results in the training, Vincent Tilgenkamp, was given with the Outstanding Achievement Award by high profile people, including:

  • APAC Global Sales Vice President Eric Denise
  • Lifecycle Management Professional Product Director Volker Schmitt
  • Tilgenkamp’s mentor Sam Davidson

Coming from Sennheiser Benelux, Tilgenkamp got his award because of topping all tasks, earning the label RF expert. One of his successful projects is supporting Dutchview, a multimedia company featuring John de Mol's hit TV show “Utopia”. Produced by Talpa, “Utopia” makes use of wireless microphone signals in 12,500 square meters area. Tilgenkamp provided the special wireless solutions for the entire setup. And together with his team, Tilgenkamp covered the area with antenna distribution combiners and receivers customized perfectly for Utopia. Learn more about it by visiting this site.

Pleased with the course for RF experts, Tilgenkamp said, “I particularly liked the on-site training sessions where we had to solve tricky problems. Our mentors made a lot of effort to manipulate the equipment, introduce all sorts of RF interference and additionally put us under time pressure. For example, they would invite a big audience to a concert and ask us to get the band miked and the RF wireless systems running in virtually no time at all! In the end, of course, the audience was let in on time and enjoyed a top-quality gig.”
