Synopsis:

Sennheiser made new updates and software to make it easier to use specific Sennheiser products. This includes the Sennheiser New Digital 3000 Firmware Version 3.0.3 and the Sennheiser Wireless Systems Manager 4.2.

Audio specialist Sennheiser announces that Dante™ card is now available for EM 9046 receiver. This new development enables the integratation of the Dante™ audio-over-IP networks to the Sennheiser Digital 9000 wireless microphone system. This can now be downloaded for free.

One of the most in-demand digital audio networking solutions in the world, Dante™ is the best choice for around 155 professional audio manufacturers in different industries, including:

  • Broadcast
  • Commercial installed
  • Conferencing markets
  • Live sound

Building on current existing Ethernet and IP networking standards, this specific solution supports AES67 and similar emerging standards with migration path. Offering about hundreds high quality audio channels, Dante™ is also able to send digital audio signals to its network through the sixteen audio inputs in its system. At a resolutions of 24 bits, it works in several sampling rates, which include:

  • 44.1 kHz
  • 48 kHz
  • 88.2 kHz
  • 96 kHz

Sennheiser Portfolio Management Pro Head Claus Menke explained how this new update can help and said, “With the EM 9046 DAN extension card, broadcast and live audio engineers can now easily integrate Sennheiser’s top-of-the-range wireless microphone system into a Dante™ network. They benefit from the system’s exceptional sound with the incredible convenience of routing high-definition audio data via Audinate’s Dante™ Controller.”

Introducing the New Digital 9000 Firmware Version 3.0.3

Sennheiser made specific tweaks in order to provide sophisticated enhancements and address certain issues. The new update allows a multichannel audio network or MAN option in the clock menu of the receivers. This makes it possible to synchronize the receiver to Dante™ network’s word clock. Another great proof of the refinements made in the New Digital 9000 Firmware Version 3.0.3 happened at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest.

Considering that the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest took place in an environment where there should be a lot of problems in using the Sennheiser product- with an all-metal construction near the venue, the new Sennheiser Digital 9000 Firmware Version 3.0.3 was able to function excellently, since it was able to cope with the reflective environment. In fact, it was able to improve the network capability of the environments of the managed enterprise.

Free download of this update can be found in this site.

Other benefits of the new update include:

  • At most, up to four daisy-chained receivers are monitored through monitoring outputs of any receiver
  • Frequencies are automatically assigned after scan
  • 24 MHz spectrum portion can be scanned, instead the entire 168 mHz booster range
  • Frequency increases in speed in critical situations

Introducing the Wireless Systems Manager 4.2

In order to include Dante™ card’s monitoring function, Sennheiser used the Wireless Systems Manager software that gave birth to the Sennheiser Wireless Systems Manager 4.2.

The Sennheiser Wireless Systems Manager 4.2 allows users several functions, including:

EM 9046’s Dante™ audio streams monitoring from any network point

Using the headphone monitor audio stream and listen through EM 9046 receivers regardless of hardware use
